The age of video marketing is well and truly upon us. No longer can the content marketer stick to simply pumping out a few blogs a month and then promoting them on Twitter and possibly a couple of others.
No, today, the internet has gone visual, and it is towards video that the current is irretrievably taking us.
Last week we went through 8 types of content that it was important to keep in your repertoire. But this week, we’re going to highlight the most important one of the lot for 2016 (aside from blogs, which, for kthe time being at least, you simply cannot make a meaningful SEO impact without) – video.
I’ll repeat the stats that we brought to you last week here, just so you get the message as to just how vital video has become for successful online marketing:
• nSocial video generates 1200% more shares than text and images combined
• Companies that use videos enjoy 41% more traffic
• Videos on landing pages produce 80% more conversions
• See how crucial video is? 1200% more shares!! That’s just incredible.
You will remember also another recent blog of ours, ‘10 Great Resources of Free Stock Video Footage’. Take a look back over that, for some of the tools that I am going to be revealing to you in this blog can be used in conjunction with those free stock footage sites, and you will find that you will be able to start creating wonderful video promos in a matter of minutes for very little costs.
Indeed, these days, you don’t need a massive budget to start making videos. The internet, as always, levels the playing field, and some of the software now available online is very, very cheap to subscribe to, yet can help you build videos of an exceptionally professional standard.
And so, without further ado, let’s take a look at our top 3 video making software sites.
Shakr is absolutely number one on this list without a shadow of a doubt.
Shakr is a video editor that you use right in your web browser to build professional videos in a matter of minutes using the templates provided. Some of the templates are as simple as typing in your own text, and your words are then animated frame by frame to some really cool music as your promotional messages fly at viewers with cool 2D or 3D effects.
Other templates just require you to load up still images and produce text over them, and still others you can upload various clips of footage for the full motion effect.
I cannot stress enough how cool and easy to use this software is, and with over 400 templates to choose from at very reasonable prices, if you turn your nose up at the rest of this list, then I beg you to give this one a try.
Get ready for I’m about to start gushing again. Whereas Shakr is all about the raw footage, Moovly is the place to go if you want to make animated video.
I won’t lie, making a video with Moovly will take up more of your time than Shakr, but that’s simply because this isn’t based on templates – you actually have to craft your animation scene by scene.
However, these animations are very, very simple to make – and don’t worry, you don’t actually have to do the stop-motion animation yourself.
Rather, you are presented with a library of illustrations that you simply drag and drop into place scene-by-scene. These illustrations can be animated very simply at a click of a button, as can any text that you add or images that you upload yourself.
You will need to create and/or provide the music and/or voiceover yourself, but that’s all part of making something relatively easily that is totally unique. Well worth checking out.
Animaker could almost be said to be a cross between Shakr and Moovly. It’s like Moovly in the fact that it’s designed to make animations, but it uses the Shakr-style template format to help you along the way.
To be fair, once you’ve got grips with Moovly, you begin to realise how restrictive templates can actually be. However, using a template inevitably saves you time – and time is of course money in the content marketing game.
Animaker markets itself as being the software platform to use to make video infographics, and that’s about right.
You don’t have to use a template with Animaker – like Moovly it offers a blank canvas for you to add what you like to. Of the two, my personal preference is for Moovly, but you may well find the illustrations more germane to your business in Animaker, so it’s a case of checking them both out and deciding which is best for you… or just use both!!
